The Adjustment Bureau

Released: 2011
Sci-fi, Romance
Director: George Nolfi
Starring: Matt Damon, Emily Blunt
Running Time: 106 minutes
Rated: PG 13

The breakdown: A love story that fate does not want to happen.

Based on a short short called the "Adjustment Team" by Philip K. Dick, this movie shows why I still love science fiction movies.
Matt Damon plays a politician that falls in love with a ballerina within minutes of meeting her by accident.  Problem with that is that the agents of the universe do not want them together.  This team of fate adjustment officers make a tiny mistake and Damon's character sees her again when he's not supposed to and he cannot get her out of his mind.  In the big plan she's supposed to marry someone else, and he's supposed to stay ambitious and continue to strive to be in politics.
I really don't want to give too much of the story away because I think it's excellent, but if you love science fiction movies, or love stories you will like this.

I feel my review is ridiculously short so I'll give you the description from the back of the dvd.
"David Norris (Matt Damon) glimpses the future Fate has planned for him...and chooses to fight for his own destiny. Battling the powerful Adjustment Bureau across, under and through the streets of New York, he risks his destined greatness to be with the only woman he's ever loved (Emily Blunt). "

I give it a 4 out of 5 stubs for being a new idea for love stories and good acting with a solid plot and writing.
