The Walking Dead

This is currently in its second season airing on Sunday nights at 8 or 9 (check your local time) on AMC.
I absolutely love this show and think it's one of THE best on television today.

The Walking Dead is a comic book that is still currently in publishing and isn't complete so the story is still being created.  The tv show is somewhat following the comic book, but deviating where it needs to so even if you've read the books you don't quite know what to expect.

The main premise is that the world (or at least the U.S. of A.) has had its entire population infected by some sort of plague.  This plague has killed a lot of people and reanimated the dead into the walking dead.  (I love a good zombie story!)
There are a lot of main characters to follow but mostly I think the show focuses on Rick (an Atlanta sheriff's deputy) his wife, Laurie, and their son Carl (who's about 10 or 12).  They had to leave Atlanta because after the zombies attacked, the government decided the best thing to do as a last resort was to nuke the city.  The main family is traveling with a large group of about 8 or 10 people trying to find a place that's safe and kill all the zombies they can along the way.
This show is directed by Frank Darabont which you might know from movies like The Mist and The Shawshank Redemption.  He's done a great job of making this show scary, suspenseful, and very entertaining.  The acting is fantastic, the story lines are thought-provoking, and the special effects are top notch.
If you haven't seen it - you gotta' start it from the beginning.
The first season is available on DVD and Blu-Ray now.

I give it 5 out of 5 remote controls because yes, it is THAT good!

PS Happy Birthday Brother!
