The breakdown:  This film, based on the comic book of the same name, is a classic story of good vs. evil, but the main character is definitely out of the norm for heroes.

I loved this one!  I usually think superhero (comic book) stories don't always transfer well to the big screen, but I really enjoyed this story.
Reeves plays a character named John Constantine who was a legend in his glory days for hunting down demons on Earth who have escaped from Hell and putting them back where they belong.  He's a chain smoker (dying of lung cancer) and has always been able to see special things other people can't.  When he was young his parents thought something was wrong with him and gave him shock therapy.  He was so tired of being tormented, he killed himself when he was a teenager.  He went to Hell briefly and then the doctors revived him.  Ever since then he knew he was going back to Hell, but sending demons back there while he's on Earth, he hopes God will appreciate his efforts and he'll be saved from Hell in the end.
He meets Weisz's character who is a cop and plays twin roles.  Her twin sister allegedly killed herself while in a mental institution, but the cop doesn't believe her sister would do something like that.  She hears of Constantine's ability and wants him to find out all he can about what really happened.  He briefly goes to Hell (with the power of water and a cat) and finds her sister there.  Weisz confesses that they both used to see these things that Constantine does, but her sister kept telling people about it and ended up being committed over it.  She didn't want the same thing to happen to her so she stopped saying she saw anything and in time, she lost her ability to see things.  They come to find out that the devil's son wants to take over the Earth and they need to find the Spear of Destiny before it finds its way to release the devil's son onto the Earth.
While Reeves and Weisz's characters are trying to track it down, Weisz is paranormally abducted into Hell and impregnated with the devil's son (I think it jumps into her body, but doesn't possess her) since his son is already full grown in Hell so there isn't really a sexual rape involved.
And I can't tell you anymore if you haven't seen this one, but want to.
I fully encourage you to see it if you like a mix of action, horror, and fantasy or any of those separate.  I think this movie is very imaginative and unique, well acted, and interesting to watch.

I give it 4 out of 5 because I would've liked the film to be longer (only because I can't get enough of the characters I enjoy them so much.)
