The Holiday
Released: 2006
Supposed to be a romantic comedy
Starring: Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz
Director: Nancy Meyers
Running Time: an agonizing 138 minutes
Rated PG-13
The breakdown: One of the most boring movies I have seen....A couple of ladies are tired of their dead end love lives and switch houses on different continents during the holidays. They meet new dead end guys to love and the movie's over.
I really don't know what's left to talk about. The breakdown just summed up all you need to know about this stinker. The characters are lame and boring. They are hard to like and the couples have no chemistry whatsoever. You don't care whether they get together or stay single their whole lives. Terrible acting, as usual, from Diaz. Black is awkward and not the leading man type. I like Winslet and Law but not in these roles. There's no reason to watch this one. Just skip it. I obviously couldn't even come up with much for the review, that's how much it's lacking.
I give it 1/2 a ticket stub out of 5 (my worst ever for a rom-com) because this movie has no chemistry, no magic, no humor, and no reason for you to watch it my friend. I have a huge crush on Jude Law and in this, he's just kinda' there.
