Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Released: 2011
Drama, Fantasy, Supposed to be for kids but these last few years they've really become adult
Starring: Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Gary Oldman, Ralph Finnes
Director: David Yates
Running Time: 130 minutes
The breakdown: The last chapter of the wildly successful Harry Potter story.
Well, if you're a big time fan this was a bittersweet movie. Of course, you wanted to see how they ended it in movie form, but then again, you wanted another promised movie to be in the works. Sadly, this was the last one of eight really great films based on the books.
The last movie only covers a very big day for Harry, Hermione, and Ron. They still have to find the final three horcruxes and destroy them, and then find Lord Voldemort and kill him.
I can't really discuss more than that since I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it or read the books, but I can say the movie ending is a bit better than the book ending. Still anti-climactic though.
The acting from the three kids has just got better and better over the years and the storyline is pretty adult and engaging compared to the first movie.
Overall, I'm very happy with the films (though the first one was my least favorite) and it's been fun to watch the books come to life.
If you haven't seen or read the Harry Potter series, you should give it a chance. I found the characters to be interesting and the story whisks you away to a magical world we would all like to participate in.
I give this movie 4 1/2 out of 5 stubs only because I actually would've liked them to make the ending a bit more dramatic.
