Nancy Grace Sounds Off On Amanda Knox Verdict: 'It's A Huge Miscarriage Of Justice'
On Monday, an Italian appeals court threw out Amanda Knox's murder conviction and freed the 24-year-old after she spent almost four years in prison, but HLN host and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Nancy Grace feels justice was not served.
"I was very disturbed, because I think it is a huge miscarriage of justice," Nancy told Access Hollywood' s Shaun Robinson after Monday's "DWTS" when asked about the high profile trial that also saw her co-defendant, Raffaele Sollecito, cleared of killing 21-year-old Meredith Kercher in 2007.
"I believe that while Amanda Knox did not wield the knife herself, I think that she was there, with her boyfriend, and that he did the deed, and that she egged him on. That's what I think happened," Nancy said, sharing her opinion.
Although the court overturned the conviction primarily based on discredited DNA evidence, Knox says she was not there the night of the murder, the Associated Press reported.
"[Kercher] had her bedroom next to mine. She was killed in our own apartment. If I had been there that night, I would be dead," Knox told the court on Monday. "I did not kill. I did not rape. I did not steal. I wasn't there."
Many celebrities took to Twitter on Monday celebrating the verdict, but Nancy claims to have more information than most.
"I think that people in general, including myself, want to believe good about other people and the population wants to believe that Amanda Knox is innocent. They want to believe that and I don't blame them," she explained. "I'd like to believe it too, I just happen to know the facts."
With Knox headed back to the U.S., many are wondering who will land the first interview with the headline-maker, but the HLN host isn't throwing her hat into the ring.
"I'm not trying to get Amanda Knox's first interview because... my show does not pay for interviews in any way," Nancy told Shaun. "I think whether she gets paid outright or whether it's a licensing fee for a photograph, that's the way a lot of networks get around paying for interviews, I absolutely would not stand to be on a show where we pay for guests or interviews. Second, I don't think she's going to tell the truth anyway, so what's the point?"
On Tuesday morning, Knox was first seen heading home from Rome. She then touched down at Heathrow Airport in London on her way back to America.

I know I've been doing a lot of reposts lately, but this stuff is really interesting.
First off, I have to say I can't stand Nancy Grace. I agree with Stephen Colbert, she should change her HLN tv show name to Missing White Girl with Angry Layered Haircut. She could change her birthname to that as well. I hate her yelling on that show. I hate that she seems angry all the time about some BREAKING NEWS story that some Missing White Girl has shown up dead somewhere and she knows who did it!!!! I hate her attitude of the know it all lawyer who isn't practicing anymore, she's just hosting a tv show. Anyway, she's on Dancing with the Stars too and I hope she gets eliminated soon.
So, back to this article. I'm not sure how Nancy Grace could ever know more about this case than the rest of us? She wasn't in the courtroom and she wasn't on the team of lawyers on either side, so I'm not sure where she's getting this "extra intelligence" about the case.
Amanda Knox is most likely guilty. Even if she didn't push the knife into the other girl's body, she was there watching. That makes her an accomplice and if she didn't tell the police the truth about that crime, then she's also covering it up and aiding and abetting a murder. THAT is a big deal. She confesses to the police and then retracts it? If I wasn't guilty, I wouldn't confess, no matter how scared or pressured I felt. So they say, she had no motive. That the girls didn't hate each other, and they have no witnesses that could testify that there was any reason the girls didn't like each other. You know, there have been plenty of times that I couldn't stand someone at work, or school, or is a friend of a friend, but I never showed it and no one could testify that I hated their guts either.
What if she liked her boyfriend? What if they slept together and Amanda just found out that night? No one will ever really know, but who I feel bad for most is the family of the dead girl. How must they feel now that one of their daughters murderers is loose? So Amanda Knox and her Italian boyfriend both have been acquitted of this murder?! So who killed this girl? She killed herself? She stabbed herself over 40 times and once across the throat? I can't believe how often these murderers are getting off these days.
There's a long list of them, but only a few I can think of in recent years just now for this post:
O.J. Simpson (totally completely guilty to me and only got off because he was a "celebrity"
Casey Anthony (totally completely guilty based on her actions after the child went missing and how long it took her to report her child missing. Got off because the prosecution team were incompetent.)
Amanda Knox (partially guilty of murder because she was probably direct witness to it, lied about it, and was an American in an Italian court and Italy didn't have the guts to keep her imprisoned.)
I'm pretty disgusted with the justice system in this country and now Italy too. It seems like anyone who's good enough can get away with murder.
