Face Off - the television show

Airing every Wednesday night on the Syfy channel (don't ask me why they spell it this way instead of sci-fi which is more accurate and not silly) at 9 pm central time.  Perhaps they liked the fact that syfy.com wasn't taken as a domain name?
So the show is a competition based "reality" show where lots of people come together to do the best movie monster make up they can do.  Sometimes they knock you out with what they're capable of in a very short amount of time.  The creativity is phenomenal (most of the time).

Anyway, this show can be very neat, but also very ridiculous.

Here we see a beetle human hybrid from season 1.  This would be under the very cool category for me.



Some more cool stuff from season 1.  Frog Prince.




Here's the frog in the "frog Prince" idea from one of the finalists last season.  It's too bad that the "prince" is grabbing his crotch in this shot.  I'm sure he's not really, but it looks like it.

While last season I thought was pretty neat, this season so far, doesn't have the same razzmatazz.

Some of the ideas have been very lazy and lack the work required to finish the contestants ideas completely.  When you can't finish what you envisioned the end project looks silly in the end.  Maybe the show creators just need to come up with better ideas, but it's still young in season 2 so we'll see what they have in up coming episodes.  Hopefully the lazy contestants will be shown the door soon and some real talent will come out in later episodes.
